Welcome to Bead Art & Design. My name is Melissa and I am a jewellery designer living and working in the Blue Mountains. It is with pleasure that I bring to you a collection of beautiful handcrafted jewellery and accessories suitable for all occasions. I only use quality materials in my designs and you'll find many containing semi-precious gemstones, freshwater pearls, Swarovski crystals, handmade borosilicate and lampwork beads, bali sterling silver (.925), Karen Hill tribe pure silver (.999), gold filled and vermeil beads, sterling silver and titanium for chain maille designs... all of which have been sourced from various locations around the world.
I will also be showcasing the finished work of other Self Representing Artists from time to time and their work can be viewed under "Artist of the Month". My love for bright colours and gemstones has resulted in a few extra categories on my website. I adore glass work (both fused and torched) and the work of some of my favourite artisans in these fields can be viewed under "Dichroic Glass Pendants" & "Handmade Borosilicate & Lampwork Beads". I also really enjoy working with stunning focal beads and pendants and have added a category called "Unique Gemstone & Sterling Silver Jewellery" which contains a number of gorgeous handcrafted pieces which are generally one of a kind.
My constant worldwide search for beautiful and unusual well made beads and findings has led me to create yet another category "Unusual Beads & Findings" which brings to you a sample of the quality components I like to use in my own designs.
