ART04 - LADY OF THE OUTBACK Boulder Opal Necklace

LADY OF THE OUTBACK...this piece was inspired by a fabulous piece of Boulder Opal hand cut & polished by the talented Denys at www.wollemigems.com.au

The idea was to capture the beauty of the Australian outback through a piece of beaded jewellery. This necklace features a side drilled Australian Boulder Opal and has been beaded on 5 strands of beading wire using a blend of Swarovski Crystals, sterling silver beads,white opal chips and borosilicate glass beads.

This necklace has an almost ethereal quality to it and I'll look forward to wearing it myself when it comes back from the Stitches & Craft Tour towards the end of the year.

This piece is currently in the TOP 50 designs nominated by the 2008 BEADS ETC Australian Designer of the Year Competition. You can vote for your favourite design from the Competition on their website.
